SODI KART

Created in 1981 by Gildas Mérian, Sodikart has seen an extraordinary and fast development thanks to a wise balance of passion for races and long-term vision, which has given birth to a large scale structure, particularly well organized. Quite simply, Sodi has become the world leader in the karting industry.

Several thousands of chassis are manufactured each year in their state-of-the-art production unit near Nantes and are exported to more than 40 countries over the 5 continents. Leisure material plays a major role thanks to its renowned manufacturing quality. Qualified and motivated personnel, leading-edge technologies and constant checks meet the expectations of the most demanding customers.

Sodi maintains its leading role in the market thanks to the innovation capabilities of its Research and Development department. The racing chassis department can rely on all Sodi's know-how in this field as well as on the power of its design office to stand out in its sector.

SODI RACING TEAM

The racing department in Sodi is evidence of Gildas Mérian's undiminished passion for competition. The core of the brand, the Racing Team, pursues the highest ambitions and aims at being no less than the best. After obtaining the best laurels in racing with the title of World Champion achieved by David Terrien in 1993, Sodi sets up an important production structure and stays away from racing for some time.

2002 is the year of the great comeback for the French brand and the results do not take long to show up with the titles of Vice World Champion 2003 and 2004 obtained by Arnaud Kozlinski in Formula A, the top category of international karting. Sodi also wins the FA World Cup in Suzuka, Japan in 2006. At the same time, the factory has developed a brand new production unit for racing karts, up to its quality levels.

In 2009, the racing department is reorganized around an expert Swiss team manager, Nicola De Cola, the author of a career dotted with victories. He is located in private rooms in the heart of the Sody factory and has set up a new structure for transfer to races. Its official drivers are increasing in number and level and this is just the beginning because Sodi aims at the top titles in international racing.

At the same time, Sodi’s objective is also to offer the best materials to private teams and drivers of all levels, to enable them to stand out at all levels of karting competition.
