Anthony Abbasse admitted he was satisfied at the end of the first day of the European KZ1 Championship in Sarno, while Nicola De Cola nodded in agreement watching his driver from the corner of his eye. But Sodi Racing Team's weekend was not an easy one. Timed qualifying did not start well, because Anthony was unable to complete even a single lap after a collision. So he had to fight his way back to the lead and did everything he could to avoid possible problems.

"We made some reasonable technical choices, it was not the right time to push my luck. I qualified in 10th place, and it was not bad given that I was coming from the last place, with high hopes for the races" Abbasse commented.

But the weather changed the cards on the table at the start of race 1. "I had never driven in the rain in Sarno" Anthony explained. "I tried to find the right reference points, but I only did the trick in the last few laps, managing to conquer the fourth place anyway. The track dried before race 2, but the rubber was completely soaked by the previous shower. I had no grip, the tyres spun even on straight stretches! Only a very special setup could have changed things. Despite all these difficulties, I managed to conclude in 4th place. Thanks to the potential of my kart, I am determined to make a big strike in Varennes at the second and last European round".
